Founded in 1998, Salt is a Namibian ICT company, established by a group of highly experienced IT professionals from corporate backgrounds. Our experts have a thorough understanding of how IT infrastructures need to be designed, commissioned, administered, operated and maintained. The experience of having worked in large IT departments means that we can leverage this knowledge for our own clients. This has allowed us to grow into a major player in Namibia. Delivering expert IT advice and integration has meant that we have not only received praise from our clients, but have been recognised by winning many prestigious awards and achievements.

Our Board

Tega Shiimi Ya Shiimi (Chairman)

Tega, CEO at Sanlam Investment Management Namibia, has degrees from the University of Namibia and the University of Cape Town (Graduate School of Business) in Accounting, Finance & Risk Management. He is our financial Guru, mentor and always there when we need him.

Apollus Christiaan Baisako (Shareholder)

Chris obtained a Master Degree in Information Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) as well as a Bachelor Degree from the University of Namibia (UNAM), majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics. He knows all about running an IT department. After all, he used to run one himself. As the biggest proponent of Cloud Services and Outsourcing, Chris would be the best person to enlighten you on how diverse worlds can or can’t co-exist.

Jürgen R. Weiss (Managing Director)

Jürgen has a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering with specialisation in Computer Science and more than 20 years’ experience in IT Management. He was part of the original team that set up Salt Essential IT, laying the foundation of the company’s success today. He ensured that Salt won multiple awards from Microsoft and others, implemented many firsts in Namibia including being officially recognised by Microsoft and VMware as Cloud Service Provider, IT call centres, the design of the Salt’s outsourcing concept and various Data Centres for customers and Salt itself.
